More than half of Latino’s in college are first gen

Approximately 51% of Latino college students in the United States are first-generation college students, meaning they are the first in their families to attend college.

This rate is higher than that of other racial/ethnic groups, with 38% of African American, 30% of Asian, and 22% of White students being first-generation college attendees (Excelencia in Education, 2024).
