Latino Education Attainment in Texas
According to Excelencia in Education, over half of Latino adults have a high school education or less. In 2022, 58% of Latino adults (25 years and older) had a high school diploma (33%) or less (25%), compared to 37% of non-Hispanic Whites who had a high school diploma (28%) or less (9%). The percentage of Latino adults age 25 and older who had completed high school has increased. Between 2012 and 2022, Latino high school completion increased from 65% to 75%.
In 2022, 26% of Hispanic/Latino Texans aged 25 and older had earned an associate degree or higher, up from 17% in 2012 (Texas Demographic Center, 2023).
